Basin is a locally owned corporation, which is a member of
the Canadian buying group Basics Office Products. There are 32 affiliates across
Canada who will honour contract agreements negotiated by individual members.
Basin is also affiliated with the American Office Products Distributors, who
have 58 members across the United States.
Basin Stationery has been in operation since 1979.
Basin is a duly registered company meeting both federal and provincial licensing regulations. (HST # R100414440)
Basin has a staff of 37, with most employees having long-term service. As an ISO 9001:2000 certified company, all employees are involved in ongoing training programs specializing in product knowledge and customer service.

Company Information
Delivery – Metro Halifax area orders are desktop delivered next day by Basin vehicles. Same day delivery is available upon request. Outside metro orders received by 3:00 p.m. will be shipped that day via courier, for next day delivery. Rush orders will be handled on an “as required” basis. Note** Pick-up orders are available within ½ hour of placement. There is no charge for regular delivery and no minimum order. Backorders are shipped as soon as product becomes available.
Basin has storefront locations which welcome personal shopping. This allows our clients the convenience of viewing product or accessing the knowledge of our experienced staff. Basin extends the discount of our commercial accounts to their employees (dependant on proof of employment i.e.- Company ID Card).
Order desk is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.- fax and electronic orders can be received at any time.
Standard supply catalogue is updated on a yearly basis in November. The quantity required is issued at no charge. Basin’s catalogue is available on our web site and this information is updated on a regular basis. Basin also has available a “special order” catalogue that features 25,000 SKUs.
Basin has a hard copy Flyer Program which consists of 12 monthly flyers, with additional special flyers as stock becomes available. The flyers also introduce new product in the marketplace to our customers. The flyers are available on the web site (no pictures to date).
Basin always adheres to the “best buy” logic. Should a product appear on promotion, our computer system automatically reverts to the lowest price.
Invoices are supplied with orders and itemized statements are sent monthly. Basin is flexible to our client needs for invoicing and reporting purposes. We would be pleased to discuss and design billing and payment systems to fit your requirements. Activity reports are provided as needed. Usage reports are customized to your needs.
Payment terms are NET 30 days from the date of the invoice. Interest is charged at a rate of 18% per annum (1.5% per month) on amounts over 30 days. Payments are accepted by: Cash, Cheque, Visa, MasterCard, Debit Card, American Express and e-Pay.
Standard fill rate is 97% plus. This figure is based on standard stocked items. Backorders are shipped next day from receipt of stock and are not held for batching.
Custom products are sourced as required. Basin has developed an expertise in delivering customized goods and services to satisfy “out of the box” client needs.
Basin will extend a Corporate Discount (based on volume) off listed selling prices on items in the standard catalogue. “NET” prices are already discounted and are “as stated” unless otherwise quoted. Special quotes are addressed on an as needed basis.
Basin’s catalogue has a selection of recycled and partially recycled products, such as assorted paper goods, re-manufacture toner cartridges and ribbons.
Packing of orders is kept to a minimum in accordance with the size and weight of the shipment.
Used toner/inkjet cartridges are collected and returned to manufacturers for refilling or recycling.
Warranties are per the manufacturer’s stated policies.
Returns are free of charge for regular stock provided invoice and original packaging is returned with the product within 30 days. Special orders may be subject to a restocking charge.
Should an issue arise which causes concern, Basin will take swift action to ensure customer satisfaction.
On-line ordering is available through Basin Stationery’s B.O.S. net-based system. This features on-line catalogue and flyers with a secure ordering site accessible by customer defined password. This can be set-up for end-user orders to be sent to purchasing for approval before the order is transmitted to Basin Stationery. See enclosed brochure.
